Guest speakers:
Prof. Mark Hazekamp is a past president of EACTS and works as pediatric and congenital cardiac surgeon in The Netherlands and France. Next to his clinical work Prof Hazekamp has a broad interest in research.
Dr Hussein is a cardiothoracic surgery resident from the UK with a strong interest in congenital cardiac surgery and medical education. He has completed a research fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto. His thesis is on creating 3D printed heart models to help train congenital heart surgery residents and fellows in complex paediatric heart procedures. He has a keen interest in surgical simulation and its incorporation into dedicated training programmes.
Prof. Hörer graduated at Homburg, Bern and Paris. He started his career at the German Heart Center Munich. After 3 years as director at the Hospital Marie Lannelongue he is now director of the department for congenital heart surgery at the German Heart Center and Chief of the Division for congenital heart surgery at the University hospital Großhadern in Munich.
