Specialist in cardiac surgery since 2014, Dr. Maurizio Taramasso has completed his surgical training at the San Raffaele University Hospital in Milan, Italy. He has done specific cross-training in interventional cardiology and heart valve transcatheter therapies (mitral, aortic and tricuspid) at the San Raffaele University Hospital. In 2012 he completed a Fellowship in Aortic Surgery at the Hannover Medical School and in 2017 a PhD in Cardiology at the Maastricht University. From 2014 to 2020 he was consultant at the University Hospital of Zürich, where he was co-leading the Structural Valve Program. Since 2021 he is Partner of the HerzZentrum Hirslanden in Zürich, where he is also Member of the Board. His main areas of interest include surgical and catheter treatments of valvular heart disease (TAVI, mitral and tricuspid interventions) and heart failure. He is author and co-author of numerous publications on these topics
