Dr Khalil Jawad was raised in Lebanon and moved to Germany where he completed his medical training at the Charité University of Medicine, Berlin Germany. Khalil completed his internship and residency at Leipzig Heart Center, University of Leipzig, where he is currently working as a consultant for cardiac surgery. Khalil started a clinical fellowship at Toronto General Hospital with a special focus on mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant. Khalil moved back to Leipzig in February 2021. His major research interest is the ubiquitin proteasome system as a potential therapeutic target for heart failure and the minimally invasive LVAD Implantation techniques.
