Eva Sames-Dolzer was born in Linz, Austria, attended the medical school of the University of Vienna and lives together with her husband and their two daughters in Linz. She passed her residency in General Surgery and later on in Cardiac Surgery at the former General Hospital Linz, Austria, now Kepler University Hospital Linz. She is working as attending surgeon in the field of paediatric cardiac surgery since 2004 at the Children’s Heart Center Linz, serving as chief substitute of the institution. Her primary scientific and surgical interests lie in single ventricle palliation and treatment of borderline left ventricle patients after foetal intervention. She is also faculty member of the Johannes Kepler University, teaching cardiovascular diseases and paediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery.
