Dr Edgar Daeter is a cardiothoracic surgeon at St. Antonius Hospital and is one of the founders of the “Meetbaar Beter (Measurably Better)” in the Netherlands, a doctor-driven and patient-focused initiative to transparently report patient outcomes and identify improvement potential between cardiac centers. This was a big success and merged into the NHR where Edgar was one of the board members. Edgar is also the Chair of Dutch Cardiothoracic Registry Commission that monitors outcomes of cardiac interventions in the Netherlands. Edgar has been appointed as the new Chair of the Quality Improvement Programme Committee at EACTS.
