Vladimiro Vida
Prof. Dr. Vladimiro Vida completed his medical studies at the University of Padua in Italy. He completed his cardiac surgery residency in Italy, followed by a two-year clinical fellowship in Guatemala under the guidance of Prof. Aldo Castaneda. He then spent an additional two years at Boston Children’s Hospital – Harvard Medical School. Following his training, he was appointed as a consultant at the Pediatric and Cardiac Surgery Unit of Padua. In 2017, he became Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery, and subsequently in 2019, he was promoted to Full Professor of Cardiac Surgery and assumed the leadership of the Pediatric and Cardiac Surgery Unit of Padua. In 2021, he also took on the role of Director of the cardiac surgery training program at the University of Padua. He has published over 260 indexed scientific papers and authored numerous books and book chapters in the field of cardiac surgery. During his three-year term as Chair of the Congenital Domain of EACTS, his mission will be to promote education by:
- Endorsing online webinars featuring world-renowned experts in the field of congenital heart disease.
- Facilitating live and remote simulations of surgical techniques for the correction of congenital heart malformations.
- Promoting research activities, such as multi-institutional studies and the analysis of big data.
