Tom Verbelen
Tom Verbelen graduated in 2009 as a medical doctor and in 2016 as a general surgeon at the University of Leuven. In 2017 he obtained his PhD on the role of mechanical circulatory support in pulmonary hypertension. After finishing his residency in cardiac surgery, he performed postdoctoral visits at Cleveland Clinic and UC San Diego. Currently, he is deputy head of clinic in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the University Hospital Leuven and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Leuven. His areas of interest are minimally invasive valve surgery and pulmonary endarterectomy.
