Tobias Winkler

Tobias Winkler, MD, PhD, is a specialist in orthopedic and trauma surgery at the Center for Muskuloskeletal Surgery (CMSC) of the Charité Berlin. He studied Human Medicine at the University of Vienna and was part of a research team for nerve regeneration at the University Clinics of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed his PhD at the Medical University of Vienna in 2007. His research work was based in the Julius Wolff Institute and Berlin Brandenburg Center and School for Regenerative Therapies and is focused on cell therapy.

In 2009 Dr. Winkler received the Innovation Award of the German Society for Trauma Surgery. Since 2017 he has been coordinator of an EU consortium conducting a multinational project on cell therapy for muscle trauma.
