Sebastian Streukens is an imaging cardiologist at the Maastricht UMC and the medical head of the echocardiography department. He has experience with echocardiography, cardiac MRI and cardiac CT, and has European certification (ESC-EACVI) for TTE, TOE and cardiac MRI. His main interest is cardiac imaging in valvular heart disease and interventional TOE during minimally invasive mitral valve interventions (i.e. mitraclip implantation, carillon implantation and transapical Neochords procedure). Due to his interest and experience in valvular heart disease, he is also a member of the mitral valve heart team and the specialized mitral valve outpatient clinic. Currently he is performing his PhD on sodiumfluoride PET-CMR in patients with non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).
