Sara Ranchordás
Dr Sara Ranchordás is a cardiac surgeon and the coordinator of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Santa Cruz in Lisbon, Portugal. She completed her medical degree in Porto and pursued her residency in cardiac surgery at Hospital Santa Cruz from 2014 to 2020.
During her residency, Dr Ranchordás completed a fellowship at Hôpital Européen Georges-Pompidou in Paris, further refining her surgical skills. In 2023, she also undertook the prestigious Francis Fontan Fellowship in Barcelona, specializing in advanced post-operative care.
Dr Ranchordás has particular interest in hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, management of endocarditis, and she is an active member of the Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation team. Her role combines clinical leadership with specialized surgical skills and training, contributing significantly to the field of cardiac surgery and patient care.
