Pouya Youssefi

Pouya Youssefi is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London UK. He is a Core Leader of the Heart Valve Society’s Aortic Valve Research Network. He was winner of the SCTS Ethicon Scholarship, from which he has spent almost 2 years working with Emmanuel Lansac in Paris on techniques of aortic valve and root repair. He has completed a PhD in computational fluid dynamics of the aortic valve and root, for which he was awarded the EACTS Walton Lillehei European Young Investigator of the Year Award, SCTS Ronald Edwards Medal, SCTS Bob Bonser Medal in Aortic Surgery, AATS Residents’ Medal, Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellowship and Dunhill Medical Trust Research Fellowship. He has written extensively on techniques of aortic valve repair, as well as aortic surgery and fluid dynamics.
