Paul Mohacsi

Paul Mohacsi is chief physician at the Department of Cardiology of the University Hospital (Inselspital) Bern, Switzerland, and full Professor of heart failure and Medical Director of advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation and ventricular assist device therapy at the same institution. He completed his thesis (MD) in transplantation immunology after graduating at the Medical School of the University of Zurich. With over 30 years of clinical experience, Prof. Mohacsi has published over 100 peer reviewed articles, and has presented approximately 500 invited lectures at international meetings. He is Vice-Chairman of EUROMACS (European Registry for Patients with Mechanical Circulatory Support e.V.). He was member of several steering committees and data safety monitoring boards. Since 2012, he is acting project leader in hospital planning of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Surgery of the projected Swiss Cardiovascular Center.
