Nina Ajmone Marsan is a cardiologist with focus on non-invasive cardiac imaging in particular for valvular heart disease and cardiomyopathies. In 2005, she completed her cardiology training cum laude at Policlinico S. Matteo Hospital, Pavia, Italy. In 2011 she obtained PhD cum laude on the topic “Incremental value or advanced cardiac imaging modalities for diagnosis and patient management” at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands. Currently she is working as a cardiologist at the non-invasive imaging unit of the Leiden University Medical Center, actively involved in the management of patients with valvular heart disease. In addition to her daily activities as a general cardiologist Nina Ajmone Marsan is highly involved in clinical research and she supervises several PhD students from The Netherlands and abroad and has published extensively in leading academic journals.
