Nils Reiss is Head of the Department for Clinical Research at the Schuechtermann-Klinik, Bad Rothenfelde, one of the five largest heart centers in Germany, and is also responsible for cardiac assist device patients. Since 2016 he has also been Professor at the Hannover Medical School. He attained his Doctorate at the Georg-August University, Göttingen and trained as a cardiac surgeon at the University of Cologne and the Heart Center North-Rhine Westfalia, Bad Oeynhausen. His scientific interests include mainly heart failure treatment (cardiac assist devices, physical capacity in heart failure patients).
