Milind Desai, MD, is a staff cardiologist in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute, Cleveland Clinic. He is a professor of medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. He holds the inaugural Haslam Family Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine and has dual appointments in the departments of cardiovascular medicine and radiology and is an expert in multimodality cardiovascular imaging. He is the medical director of the Center for Aortic Diseases and an integral part of the Centers for valvular heart disease, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Radiation Heart Disease, and is the director of Cardiovascular Imaging Research.
Dr. Desai’s research interests include large outcomes studies in valvular heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, radiation heart disease and aortic disorders. He is also an active researcher in noninvasive imaging using advanced echocardiography, CT and MRI. Dr. Desai serves on multiple committees and has helped write the international guidelines for transcatheter aortic valve replacement, multimodality imaging in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and appropriateness criteria for cardiac CT.
