Miguel Sousa Uva

Miguel Sousa Uva is currently a Consultant Senior Cardiac Surgeon and Head of Training Program at Hospital Santa Cruz, Carnaxide, Portugal. He is the vice president of the Portuguese Society of Cardiac Thoracic and Vascular Surgery and an Associate Professor at the Porto University Medical School. Miguel is a member of the Portuguese Society of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Board, as well as a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the European Board of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. His main topics of interest are coronary artery bypass surgery, mitral valve repair, implementation of congenital and valvular heart cardiac surgery in Angola and evidence based medicine and its limitations
