Michal Hulman
Michal Hulman graduated as medical doctor in 1985 from the Commenius University in Bratislava. He obtained his postgraduate specialization in General Surgery in 1989 and in 1995 postgraduate specialization in Cardiac Surgery.
In 2006 he performed the first implantation of LVAD in Slovak Republic, in cooperation with prof. Pirk and prof. Netuka from IKEM, beginning the program for VAD support in Slovakia.
He is the director of the department of Cardiac Surgery at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and at the Faculty of Medicine at Commenius University since 2007. This department is the only one in Slovakia that is responsible for heart transplantations, VAD and TAH programmes.
His areas of interest are transcatheter valve implantations, MCS, and VAD.
