Meinoshin Okumura
Meinoshin Okumura is a Japanese thoracic surgeon, Emeritus professor at Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine and is now working as the hospital director of National Hospital Organization Osaka Toneyama Medical Center in Japan. Dr Okumura’s main research interests are oncological study of lung cancer and thymic epithelial tumor and immunological study of myasthenia gravis, and has 298 English scientific publications. Dr Okumura served for Japanese Association of Chest Surgery (JACS) as Secretary General from 2013 to 2017 and also as President of annual conference in 2019. Dr. Okumura served for Japanese Association for Research on the Thymus (JART) as Secretary General from 2014 to 2025, and conducted JART database of thymic epithelial tumors. Dr Okumura is a current chairperson of Thymic Domain of Staging and Prognostic Factor Group (SPFG) of International Association for Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). Dr Okumura received Rober Ginsberg Lectureship Award of IASLC in 2013, and Brompton Prize of European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) in 2018.
