Mauro Rinaldi

Prof. Mauro Rinaldi graduated as medical doctor at University of Pavia (Italy) in 1987. In 1988 – ’90 attended a 18-month Fellowship at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) in Heart and Lung Transplantation. In 1990 he spent a six-month period at Broussais Hospital in Paris, under the supervision of Prof. Carpentier for an advanced stage in mitral valve repair. After finishing his Residency  in Cardiothoracic Surgery he became staff member in Cardiac Surgery at Policlinico S. Matteo in Pavia (Italy). In 2005 he was appointed Chief of Cardiac Surgery Division at Molinette Hospital in Turin and became Associate Professor at University of Turin. In 2007 he was appointed as Full Professor at the same University. He is Chief of the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery since 2016.

His major areas of interest are related to mini- and micro-invasive Cardiac Surgery, aortic and mitral valve repair, complex aortic arch surgery, heart and lung transplantation and mechanical assist devices.
