Marko Kostic

I am a specialist in pediatric surgery and general thoracic surgery. In children’s surgery, I was primarily engaged in the field of pediatric thoracic surgery, especially the treatment of chest deformities and mediastinal tumours. I have been a specialist in thoracic surgery since 2012, and in addition to the knowledge already passed on from pediatric thoracic surgery, I mainly deal with oncological surgery of lung cancer and mediastinal tumors (open surgery and VATS). In my thoracic surgery training, I attended many workshops, of which I would single out those organized by EACTS in Bergamo (also ESTS). I spent a year on the DFSMA programme at CHU Rouen France, the leading RATS center in France, and three weeks at Foch Hospital in Paris, which has the highest lung transplant volume in France. The plan at the clinic where I work University Clinic for Thoracic Surgery, Belgrade, Serbia, is to develop a lung transplant program in which I plan to participate. I have been an assistant professor of thoracic surgery at the Medical Faculty of the University of Belgrade since 2021.
