Kay-Hyun Park
Dr. Kay-Hyun Park is a cardiac surgeon and academic leader, currently serving as a staff surgeon at SNU Bundang Hospital and a tenured professor at SNU College of Medicine. He graduated from SNU College of Medicine in 1987 and completed his residency in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at SNU Hospital in 1992. Dr. Park worked as a staff cardiac surgeon at Samsung Medical Center from 1995 to 2005 and spent a year as a visiting doctor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 2002.
With over 100 publications in prestigious English-language journals and more than 50 presentations at international scientific meetings, Dr. Park has made significant contributions to the field of cardiovascular surgery. He is the director of the biannual Bundang Aortic Surgery Symposium (BASS), and he has served as a leader in multiple professional organizations. Notably, he has been a council member, vice secretary general, and aortic domain chief of the Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (ASCVTS) since 2019 and was the congress president of the 2023 ASCVTS Annual Meeting in Busan, Korea.
Dr. Park is an active member of the Korean Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, continuing to shape the future of cardiovascular care through both his clinical work and educational contributions.
