John Smith graduated in 2000 as a medical doctor at the EACTS University. In 2003 he obtained his masters degree in health care and hospital management and graduated as a general surgeon in 2004. After finishing his residency in cardiac surgery, John completed his training focused on aortic valve repair, the Ross procedure and aortic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and the Montreal Heart Institute. Currently, he is the Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the EACTS University Hospital and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the EACTS Clinic. His areas of interest are minimally invasive coronary and heart valve surgery, complex aortic arch surgery, aortic reconstructive surgery.
