Jerry Braun is a cardiothoracic surgeon at Leiden University Medical Centre and Chair of the local surgical heart failure programme. He received his medical training at Leiden University and obtained a PhD degree with his thesis “Surgical treatment of functional mitral regurgitation”. He also Chairs the Training and Education Committee of the Dutch Society for Cardio-thoracic Surgery. His surgical fields of interest include heart failure surgery, treatment of functional mitral regurgitation, tricuspid regurgitation, arrhythmia surgery (including minimally invasive ablation techniques), and oncologic pulmonary and chest wall surgery.
