Gregor Kocher
Dr. Kocher received his medical training at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. After finishing his residencies in General Surgery he was awarded the specialist title in General Surgery. Thereafter he started his specialization in General Thoracic Surgery at the University Hospital in Bern, Switzerland.
A few years later he worked in different hospitals in Europe as a fellow with a special interest in VATS (Peter B. Licht, Odense, Denmark) and RATS (Franca Melfi, Pisa, Italy) as well as chest wall surgery (Mustafa Yüksel, Istanbul, Turkey), and lung transplantation & tracheal surgery (Walter Klepetko, Vienna, Austria). After that he received the specialist title in Thoracic Surgery and became Chief physician at the Department of General Thoracic Surgery at the University Hospital in Bern and was promoted to the academic degree of associate Professor at the University of Bern, Switzerland in 2020.
In addition, he has studied international healthcare management and has received his degree as a MBA in international healthcare management (U.K.) in 2019.
Prof. Kocher is currently in private practice as a Consultant in Thoracic Surgery at Hirslanden Clinic Beau Site in Bern; Lindenhof Hospital in Bern; & Head of Thoracic Surgery at St. Claraspital in Basel, Switzerland. Futhermore, there is an ongoing co-operation with the University of Bern concerning academic activities.
