Georgios Sotiropoulos

Georgios (George) Sotiropoulos is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon working in Athens Naval Hospital.

Following his graduation from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2009, he trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery in prestigious Hospitals in Athens and London. During his specialty training he completed his PhD thesis, focusing on the relationship between early stage NSCLC and adipose tissue hormones. After obtaining his Certificate of Completion of Training he moved to USA to complete the Advanced Fellowship in Thoracic Surgical Oncology in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY.  During his training he received multiple prizes and distinctions from esteemed organizations such as the SCTS and MSKCC.

After returning to Greece, Dr Sotiropoulos reinforced the implementation of minimal invasive surgery and ERAS program at his home institution. His special interests include minimal invasive surgery, lung cancer, mediastinal diseases, chest wall surgery and diaphragmatic disorders.
