Dr Francois Lacour-Gayet is a consultant cardiac surgeon and professor of surgery at Royal Hospital, National Heart Centre, Muscat, Oman. Originally from Paris, Dr Lacour-Gayet undertook his medical training and residencies in hospitals throughout the capital. He went onto work as a paediatric cardiac surgeon in Hamburg, USA and London. Some of his main surgical interests are neonatal cardiac surgery, complex biventricular repair, minimally invasive paediatric cardiac surgery. Francois was previously Chairman of Congenital Heart Disease Committee and council member at EACTS. He was chief-editor of the book ‘Surgery of Conotruncal Anomalies’ in 2015 and has published 207 peer-reviewed articles.
