Claudio Caviezel

Now working as head of Thoracic Surgery at Cantonal Hospital Graubünden in Switzerland, Claudio was trained as general surgeon with board certification in 2015 and as general thoracic surgeon with certification in 2018. In 2019, he worked at the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Rigshospitalet in Kopenhagen, Denkmark. Until 2023, he was the deputy director of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the University Hospital Zürich in Switzerland.
While the clinical work focuses on minimal-invasive thoracic surgery including robotics, thoracic trauma and lung volume reduction, Claudio’s research activities mainly involve emphysema treatment as well.
