Chiara Giorni
During my Residency, I spent 1 year at Hospital “Georges Pompidou” in the department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Heart-Thorax Transplantation and Intensive, in Paris, France.
After my residency, between 2004 and 2005, I started my experience in congenital heart diseases, working like anesthesiologist and Intensivist at Hospital “Enfants Malades” in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Intensive Care Department, directed by Professor Pascal Vouhé, in Paris, France, completing my training with a Diploma in “Réanimation Chirurgicale des Cardiopathies Congénitales” obtained at University “René Descartes” of Paris year 2004-2005.
In June 2005, I started to work like anesthesiologist and Intensivist in the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Intensive Care Department at Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome.
Between September 2012 and august 2016, I worked like anesthesiologist and intensivist in Paris, Hospital “Enfants Malades” in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Intensive Care Department, directed by Professor Pascal Vouhé. I completed my experience in Paris training in the Laboratory of hemostasis and thrombosis improving my knowledge on pediatric hemostasis and pediatric anticoagulation challenges. In the same period, between January 2012 and April 2013, I obtained my master’s degree in Thrombosis and Hemostasis at Florence University, Italy, with full marks and honors.
In October 2017, I was visiting physician at Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton (Canada) in the Pediatric and adult Cardiac Department. I had a multidisciplinary experience with the Ventricular Assist Team, the Pediatric Cardiology Team, and the KID Clot Pediatric Thrombosis Team. Currently, from September 2016, I have been working like anesthesiologist and Intensivist in the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Intensive Care Department at Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome, Italy. My area of interest is the management of anticoagulation in our department, especially for all children implanted with mechanical circulatory support for short and long term.
