Carmelina Cristina Zirafa

Dr Zirafa is a thoracic surgeon working at the Robotic Multispeciality Center for Surgery at the University Hospital of Pisa (Italy). She graduated from the University of Pisa where she completed her medical training and residency in Thoracic Surgery and obtained her PhD in Clinical Pathophysiology. Her focus is on robotic surgery and the application of technological and medical innovations in the field of lung, mediastinal and pleural tumours. In addition to her surgical practice, she is involved in training and supporting other surgeons in robotic surgery. She has contributed to national and international studies on the medical and surgical treatment of lung and mediastinal tumours. Dr Zirafa is the author of many articles on therapeutic innovations in thoracic surgery; she also contributes to the editorial process of international journals.
