Bernhard Voss completed his medical studies in 1993 at the University of Heidelberg. In 1994 he began his cardiac surgery training at Heidelberg University Hospital under the supervision of Prof. Siegfried Hagl. In 1999 he started working at the German Heart Center Munich under the supervision of Prof. Rüdiger Lange, where he qualified as a specialist in cardiac surgery in 2003 and became a consultant in 2006. Since 2010 he has been the senior consultant cardiac surgeon at the German Heart Center Munich. He is an associate professor at the Technical University of Munich. For over 20 years he has specialised primarily in minimally invasive mitral valve reconstruction.
