Bernhard Gerber

Prof. Gerber  obtained his M.D. and cardiology specialization at the UCLouvain and subspecialized in non-invasive cardiac imaging, during a post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He currently works at the Cliniques Universitaires St. Luc, UCLouvain, Brussels Belgium and is involved in multimodality cardiac imaging using different imaging modalities including echocardiography, cardiac CT, nuclear imaging and particular cardiac MR. He is particularly interested in studying myocardial alterations and prognosis in valvular heart disease.

He was Chair of the CMR section and Vice-President of the European Association for Cariovascular Imaging EACVI from 2020 until 2022 and is the current president of the Belgian Society of Cardiology (bscardio.be) and will be Editor in Chief of European Heart Journal Cardiovascular Imaging from January 2025.
