Asif Shah
Asif Shah graduated from the Punjab University in 1997 as medical doctor. Basic surgical training MRCS & higher surgical training in cardiothoracic surgery FRCS(C-Th) was completed in Ireland 2012 by Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In 2014 got the fellowship FECTS by the European Board of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgeons. After finishing his training in cardiothoracic surgery, Asif finished his training focused on mechanically circulatory support (MCS) & heart lung transplantation at Mater Misericordiae Hospital Dublin. Currently he is clinical lead at department of Cardiac surgery, Freeman Hospital Newcastle. His areas of interest are complex mitral valve repair surgery, off pump coronary revascularisation surgery, minimally invasive aortic & mitral surgery and heart failure surgery (MCS & heart/lung transplantation).
