Anna Lena Emrich

Lena is currently working as an attending cardiac surgeon specialising in adult cardiac surgery at the University Medical Center in Mainz, Germany and spent two years as a Fellow at the Medical University of South Carolina. Lena has a profound interest in bypass surgery and imaging as well as education and training in cardiac surgery, which is highlighted by her publications. Lena was Chair of the Young Chapter of the German Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and afterwards served as a board member of the GSTCS for 7 years. Her interest in training and education is fundamented as a member of the Committee of education and training for the last ten years. As a founding member of the EACTS Women in Cardiothoracic Surgery Committee Lena is a passionate advocate for diversity and supporting women in cardiothoracic surgery.
