Jama Jahanyar

Dr. Jahanyar graduated from the Westfälische-Wilhelms University in Muenster, Germany in 2000 with his MD degree, and obtained a PhD degree from the Ruhr-University of Bochum, Germany. He then completed a General Surgery Residency at the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and a Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. Following this, he completed an advanced Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, California. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery. Dr. Jahanyar is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Metro Washington DC. He obtained additional experience in aortic valve and aortic root surgery while working at Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc in Brussels, Belgium, under the mentorship of Prof. Gébrine El Khoury. Some of his clinical interests are in aortic valve repair and Ross procedure.
