Andreas Fruend studied to become a teacher in sports science and philosophy from 1980 to 1983. He finished his professional education as a physiotherapist in 1986. Specializing in neurological and cardiovascular physiotherapeutical treatments followed. Since 1989 he is head of the Department Physiotherapy in the HDZ NRW. As a board member of the international confederation of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy Andreas Fruend is elected representative for PhysioDeutschland in S3 guidelines concerning these themes. His areas of interest are physiotherapy on ICU, heartfailure and wholebody electrical muscle stimulation, early mobilisation with VAD Patients.
