Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm and Dissections: Post operative management
Course Overview
The new concept of Aorta as an organ and the strong views of early detection to reduce acute aortic dissection is clearly seen in most recent data worldwide. The launch of 2024 EACTS Guidelines for Diagnosing and treating acute and Chronic syndromes of the aortic organ has provide clinicians with the tools to deal with these complex patients.
Interestingly, EACTS guidelines also highly the importance of specialised teams and Aortic centres. Aortic patients will require of a full team of experts including Cardiac and Vascular surgeons, Cardiologist, Imaging, Aortic nurse specialist, Genetics, Psycologist, Rehabilitation and Primary Care practitioners.
We will discuss the impact of new EACTS guidelines on Aortic surgery, challenges to set up Aortic teams, importance of surveillance, genetics and life style changes.
