Course Overview
The programme will provide in-depth training of aortic valve repair from valve sparing root replacement to isolated aortic valve repair for tricuspid, bicuspid and unicuspid valve including pediatric AV repair. The aim is to integrate state-of-the-art into daily practice as well as to challenge current knowledge through lectures from our international faculty, live surgeries, detailed technical video sessions and wetlab on human hearts.
Learning Objectives
- Identifying good candidates for aortic valve repair.
- Learning the surgical steps for a reproducible repair from valve sparing root replacement and isolated aortic valve repair surgery.
- Management of specific situations or failures.
- Setting up of a network with colleagues for an active aortic valve repair programme.
- Setting up an evaluation of the results (implementation of database or participation to existing registries).
