EACTS/STS/LACES Latin America Cardiovascular Surgery Conference

The 5th EACTS/STS/LACES Latin American Cardiovascular Surgery Conference will feature a world-class, international faculty who will address and explore the latest developments and best practices in cardiovascular surgery. In addition to the invited lectures and keynote presentations, the programme will include original scientific abstracts in oral and e-Poster sessions, technical videos related to procedural expertise, trials and quality outcomes sessions, and interactive panel discussions. The final day of the Conference will conclude with a programme of ‘hands-on’ skills workshops.

Exciting news! We’re changing the way you submit your case. This year, we’re pleased to announce a new approach to our submission process. This new format makes it easier for you to step forward and share your insights. Submitting your case is a great way to exchange knowledge and discuss different treatment options with renowned specialists and like-minded peers. The Residents’ Committee will be on hand to offer guidance and support as you prepare your case, ensuring you feel confident in your presentation. Next Generation: Infective Endocarditis from Symptoms to Surgery

Following on from last year’s unprecedented success, EACTS Next Generation webinars return for a new series in 2025.

The global burden of infective endocarditis is increasing, from 478,000 cases in 1990 to 1,090,530 cases in 2019. In this session our Expert Speaker will give an extensive overview, from the pathophysiology and symptoms to different surgical strategies. When do surgeons opt for valve repair or valve replacement? After this session, attendees will have a comprehensive understanding of the multiple facets of infective endocarditis.

Statistic Corner 1

New for 2025 – Statistics Corners

This course offers a foundational understanding of medical statistics through four 2-hour webinars in March, April, May, and June 2025. Aimed at improving statistical competence, the course covers key concepts such as variable types, data distribution, basic statistical tests, and interpretation of figures, graphs, and medical statistical results. Additionally, participants will be introduced to statistical software, equipping them with practical skills for interpreting medical data.
