David Alexander is a consultant cardiothoracic anaesthetist at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. He graduated from the University of Cape Town, and completed his post-graduate training in anaesthesia in the United Kingdom. His sub-speciality interests include adult thoracic anaesthesia, high risk obstetric-cardiac anaesthesia and anaesthesia for grown-up congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension.
