Omar Khan trained in London and graduated in 1999. After gaining his membership, he commenced medical oncology training on the North London rotation in 2004. He continued his training in Oxford from 2005. He undertook research at the University of Oxford from 2007-2011 in cancer biomarkers for HDAC inhibitors leading to the award of a DPhil as well as several peer-reviewed publications. After completion of medical oncology training in Oxford, he has been practising as Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon since April 2013. He specialises in the treatment of lung cancer, mesothelioma, ovarian cancer, renal cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer and acute oncology.
