New at EACTS, the Pre-Trainee Committee is dedicated to medical students and pre-trainee doctors who are passionate about pursuing a career in cardiothoracic surgery.

Our Mission

The purpose of the Pre-Trainee Committee is to increase medical student and pre-training doctor engagement with cardiothoracic surgery through educational and other relevant activities via EACTS. The committee aims to offer insight into CTS careers, impart fundamental medical knowledge, initiate discussions on emerging topics, and introduce pre-trainees to EACTS early in their careers. The committee aims to inspire and attract talented individuals to become the future generation of CT surgeons.

EACTS warmly invites all students and pre-trainees worldwide to join us at the 38th EACTS Annual Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal. This year, we are introducing tailored sessions designed explicitly for pre-trainees, ensuring they receive the guidance and knowledge they need to thrive in their early careers. To facilitate student development, we are proud to offer five new educational grants to EACTS Pre-Trainee Members passionate about cardiothoracic surgery. Hurry and apply before end of day on 1 July!
