Introducing the Clinical Practice Guidelines Webinar Series
Bridging theoretical knowledge with practical insights
The EACTS Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) are set to leap off the page in 2025 with a brand-new webinar series designed to demonstrate the utility of guideline-directed care in cardiothoracic surgery.
Can Gollmann-Tepeköylü, CPG Committee Member, looks forward to the new webinar series.
“Our vision for the Clinical Practice Guidelines webinar series is to bring these Guidelines to life in a way that’s practical, engaging, and truly connected to your everyday practice. It’s about more than just learning – it’s about showing how guideline-directed care can improve patient outcomes, simplify decision-making, and boost your confidence when managing complex cases. By diving into real-life scenarios and meaningful discussions, we aim to make these Guidelines feel less like a textbook and more like a trusted tool you can rely on.
“This series is also about building connections – whether it’s inspiring the next generation of cardiothoracic surgeons, fostering collaboration across specialties, or sharing experiences to help us grow as a community. Our aim is to create a space where education meets inspiration, where theory meets practice, and where we work together to deliver the very best for our patients. We’re excited to launch this initiative and look forward to having you with us on this journey.”
Join us for the Aortic Disease Guidelines Webinar
Taking place on Wednesday 26 March, specialists in aortic diseases (ADs) and clinicians involved in diagnosis; endovascular, open surgical or hybrid treatment; and surveillance of patients with AD are encouraged to attend our Aortic Disease Guidelines Webinar.
The inaugural webinar of the series will focus on all known aspects of the natural history, diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic aortic pathologies. Presenting two case studies, this webinar will provide practical insight into how the EACTS/STS Guidelines for diagnosing and treating acute and chronic syndromes of the aortic organ can be applied to improve skills, surgery and patient outcomes.
We’re joined by co-chairs of the Guidelines and well-established authorities on the specialism,Martin Czerny and Martin Grabenwöger, and EACTS CPG Committee member, Edu Quintana, who will chair the session and share their expertise on AD.
Throughout the webinar, you will be called on to participate in interactive polls, Q&As and more, which will spark your interest in the topic and test your practical skills.
The CPG webinar series is free to attend for EACTS members and non-members, so don’t miss out on the chance to take a deep dive into the most up-to-date guidance in cardiothoracic surgery.

EACTS Clinical Practice Guidelines
Clinical practice guidelines summarise and assess all relevant evidence on a specific topic at the time of their creation, with the goal of assisting physicians in selecting the best management strategies for individual patients with a given condition. They serve as a vital tool to aid physicians in making decisions in their contemporary clinical practice.
