Shahzad Raja

Shahzad Raja has been working as a consultant cardiac surgeon at Harefield Hospital since 2011. He received his specialty training in cardiothoracic surgery at prestigious institutions including Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Glasgow University Hospitals, Harefield Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital. He is proficient in performing a wide range of cardiovascular surgical procedures, including multiple and total arterial coronary bypass grafting, off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery, minimal access aortic valve replacement, and aortovascular surgery. In addition to his surgical expertise, Shahzad has a keen interest in clinical research and quality improvement in coronary artery bypass grafting. He has contributed significantly to the field through his research efforts, focusing on improving patient outcomes and advancing surgical techniques. His dedication to research is evident in his numerous peer-reviewed publications and his role as an editor and co-editor of books on off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting. He is heavily involved in teaching and training.
