Vittorio Aprile

Dr Vittorio Aprile is an Italian thoracic surgeon at the University Hospital of Pisa, Italy. His expertise spans lung cancer, mediastinal diseases, pleural pathology, pneumothorax management, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery techniques such as Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS).

Dr Aprile began his medical journey by obtaining a master’s degree in medicine and surgery from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome in 2012, followed by a specialization in thoracic surgery at the University of Pisa in 2018.

In addition to the clinical work, he is involved as a researcher with numerous peer-reviewed publications, particularly focusing on thoracic oncology and surgery. Dr Aprile is involved as a peer reviewer for prestigious journals, and regularly participate at national and international thoracic surgery conferences.

He is a member of several notable professional societies, including the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) since 2015.
