Michael Graber

Michael Graber is an Austrian cardiac surgery resident at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria. His clinical focus is mainly heart failure surgery and coronary revascularization. His academic background includes a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology and a completed postdoctoral fellowship at the Houston Methodist Research Institute in the USA. His research group is dedicated to translational and clinical research focusing on the pathomechanisms of cardiovascular disease with the goal of developing new treatment strategies. Their topics include myocardial regeneration, treatment of heart valve calcification, and perioperative myocardial infarction. The group’s preclinical research has led to several patents and successful Phase II and III trials in heart failure patients.
