Simon Pecha, is a professor of cardiothoracic surgery and an Attending Physician in Cardiovascular Surgery at the University Heart and Vascular Center in Hamburg, Germany. In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Pecha has been serving as the Director of the Cardiac Surgery Research Lab at the same institution since 2020. With a focus on arrhythmia surgery, Dr. Pecha has been the Program Director for Arrhythmia Surgery at the University Heart and Vascular Center Hamburg since 2018. In this capacity, he has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the Arrhythmia Surgery program, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety in arrhythmia-related surgical interventions. His research interests include arrhythmia surgery, tissue engineering and minimally invasive cardiac surgery. Dr. Pecha has been a Research Group Leader at the German Centre for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK) and is now a Principal investigator at the DZHK.
