Gowthanan is a thoracic surgery resident from the UK and based in London. With experiences in organising national teaching sessions and being involved as a current representative in the national thoracic trainee subcommittee, it has allowed him to gain an insight into the importance of equal distribution and availability of education amongst our residents. The residents committee serves this and many more purposes. Gowthanan’s role is to serve the residents committee to achieve its aims with the collective goal of EACTS, striving for the optimal patient outcomes in cardiothoracic surgery through collaboration and innovation.
