Sudhakar George graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2005. He gained an MD after a period of research in Brighton on the role of patent foramen ovale in organ dysfunction. He completed cardiology training in the West Midlands before a fellowship in percutaneous coronary intervention in Auckland, New Zealand. He specialises in coronary angioplasty at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
