Maciej Kolowca

Maciej K. Kolowca graduated in 1997 as a medical doctor at the Silesian Medical University. He was awarded Hans Borst’s Scholarship in 2000. He received his training on cardiac surgery at Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department of St. Luc Hospital (Brussels, Belgium)  and Cardiothoracic Surgery Department of Leiden University Medical Centre (Leiden, The Netherlands).  He graduated at European Scholl for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery levels A,B,C (Bergamo, Italy). He was a member and chairman of EACTS Surgical Training and Manpower Committee and in 2005-2008 he was a member of EACTS Council.   In 2014 he obtained his PhD degree in cardiothoracic surgery. Currently he is vice-head of Cardiac Surgery Department at University of Rzeszow. His area of interest are aortic valve repair, valve sparing aortic root replacement,  complex arch surgery, treatment of aortic dissection and brain protection.
