Arianna Di Molfetta, MScBME, MD, PhD started her career after her master degree in Biomedical Engineer in 2007. She defended her PhD in Cardiovascular Physiopathology in 2012 and then, in 2015, she finished her post DOC and she graduated in Medicine and Surgery. As an engineer, her work was mainly focused on mechanical circulatory support and on numerical models of the human cardiovascular system working at the Institute of Clinical Physiology of the Italian National Research Council, at the Department of Cardiology of Tor Vergata and at the VAD and ECMO Unit of the Pediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù. As a physician, her clinical activity was mainly focused on mechanical circulatory support and on haemodynamics working at the VAD and ECMO Unit and at the Catheterization Laboratory of the Pediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù. Since 2018, she started her residency in Cardiac Surgery at the Policlinico Gemelli Hospital and since 2020 she is working at the Catheterization Laboratory of the Fabrizio Spaziani Hospital. She was the coordinator of the working group young ESAO of the European Society for Artificial Organs (ESAO), she was an ESAO board governor for six years and she is a member of the review board for “Artificial Organs”. She has more than 60 publications in peer review journals and more than 150 abstracts in international and national conferences.
